What should we be doing to prepare?
- The first and most significant thing is that you make sure that you are transparent before the Lord. Do not hide anything from Him and be utterly honest with yourself in His presence. Confess your sin. Seek His forgiveness and healing. Don't take unconfessed sin, heart brokenness or bitterness into the coming year.
- Get your relationships in order. If you have any unreconciled relationships, please settle them. People have no idea how much they postpone their purposes in God due to bitterness and unforgiveness.
- Thirdly, and very importantly, you need to make sure that you have allowed God to finish what He has been trying to do with you over the past year. You cannot advance unless you finish your assignments. Get reconciled to this year. Find peace with the Lord concerning what He has brought you through. Do not be bitter about disappointments. Do not be despondent over missed opportunities. Find out what it was the Lord was trying to teach through all that you experienced this year, good and bad, and acknowledge that lesson before the Lord. Give heart felt thanks for all that He has done in you as well as for you. You should finish this year’s assignments so that you are ready to graduate into next year's assignments.
- Open your heart for anything that God wants to do. We so limit God by fear. We must become totally open and expectant. Are you willing for God to do anything with Father's House this coming year? Are we ready for anything that He wants to do personally with you? Do you want to be His and not your own? Let's say, "Yes, God! Now, what is your question?"
- Be alert to the Spirit. Let us not be so preoccupied with the world that we cannot hear His voice. Let us press in now and begin to tune our ears. Many of you will begin hearing now what God wants to say at Tabernacles. Let's be His instruments and speak His truth. You may want to consider fasting some over the next six weeks or so in preparation. But know this for certain: God wants to speak in the coming weeks in order to bring His people to a new place of opportunity, grace and authority.
